Podcast recording

A quiet room, consistent mic placement and someone watching levels: that is how your episode sounds professional without fighting room echo at home.

Two podcast hosts sit at a round table with boom-arm microphones and headphones, talking in a treated podcast room.

Podcast recording at Gregorxyra suits hosts, interviewers and table discussions with one to four voices. We set dynamic mics on arms, provide headphones and keep the recording clean so editing is mostly about content, not rescue.

You can hire the studio only, book a finished-episode package, or send raw recordings for editing later. Scheduling goes through contact; music and rights stay with you — our podcast music rights guide explains the basics. Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00–22:00, Saturday 11:00–18:00, by appointment; closed Sunday.

How it works

  1. 01

    Book

Choose hourly studio time, the episode package or edit-only hours. We confirm date, price and who will be at the table.

  2. 02

    Setup

Mics, pop filters and headphones are tuned per voice; we record a short test before the real take.

  3. 03

    Record

You run the conversation with breaks when needed; the engineer watches for clipping and steady levels.

  4. 04

    Handover

You receive per-voice files or a stereo mix, plus editing if you booked it.

Which shows fit this setup

Interview podcasts, audio newsletters, internal team updates, expert chats and informal panels up to four people. Useful when you want steady quality for Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube or a private RSS feed.

Not aimed at full radio shows with a live audience or very large panels; those need extra planning and sometimes a different layout than our standard table. Questions? Call 020 261 4873 or email [email protected].

The recording space

Our podcast table sits in a treated room at Bilderdijkstraat 78 in Amsterdam-Oud-West. Reflections and street noise are controlled so voices stay close and clear. The studio is on Bilderdijkstraat in Oud-West, about a ten-minute walk from Leidseplein. Trams 1 and 7 serve the Bilderdijkstraat stop, roughly three minutes on foot from there. The entrance is at street level, which makes bringing cases or instruments straightforward.

The building has 3 recording spaces; podcast sessions use the room that fits your group size. Up to four voices at the table is standard; more guests need advance coordination via contact.

What to prepare

Send a short outline or question list, guest names and target length beforehand. Tell guests the episode will be edited and published. Notes on paper or a tablet are fine; we avoid loud keyboard typing on the table.

Still or sparkling-free drinks are welcome; eating on mic is awkward because of mouth noise. For voice-over or solo vocals alongside your show, see Voice and voice-over recording.

Recording and monitoring

Each voice gets its own channel so later editing stays flexible. You hear yourself and others in the headphones; the engineer in the control room watches meters and can flag plosives or sudden laughter.

Breaks are normal: water, rewriting a question or redoing a tough answer is part of the flow. We do not delete “bad” takes unless you ask; you decide what stays in the edit.

Editing and the episode package

The €228 rate covers about one hour of recording plus basic editing: trimming silences, smoothing obvious stumbles, levelling and export in the format you specify. Heavier edits with music, jingles and multi-camera sync sit outside the standard package.

Edit-only on existing recordings is €64 per hour. Raw studio hire without editing is €82 per recording hour. Want a separate jingle mastered via Mastering? That is a separate job.

Prices include 21% VAT for consumers. Business invoicing through Gregorxyra B.V. is available; see terms and conditions for cancellation and deposits.

Delivery and file formats

After the session you typically receive WAV or the format you named upfront. Per-stem exports help if you edit yourself; a stereo mix is handy for quick review. Files are shared by download link and stay available for 24 months.

We do not host your show on Spotify; you upload to your platform. We can align loudness and format with common podcast specs if you send them.

Music, jingles and rights

Intro music, background loops and commercial catalogue clips are your responsibility. We are not a rights agency; editing does not make you the owner of chart material. Read podcast music rights before you publish.

We can place stock audio you supply during editing when the licence covers podcast use. Custom composers or exclusive jingles are not standard — ask for a separate quote.

What is not included

No video production, transcription, social clips, platform publishing or marketing. No unlimited retakes within the same hour if the session runs long because of discussion — extra time is billed at €82 or by agreement.

Failures on your own recorder beside our feed, content translation and legal review of guest contracts sit outside the studio. For guest data: privacy policy.

FAQ

How many people can record at once?

Up to four voices at the podcast table by default. Larger panels need advance planning via contact so mics and space work.

What is the difference between hourly and episode pricing?

€82 is studio time with an engineer, no editing. €228 bundles about one hour of recording with basic editing and export. Extra edit time is €64 per hour.

Can I bring my own intro music?

Yes, if you have the licence. We do not verify rights; see our rights guide and clear music before release.

Can I take raw stems to edit myself?

Yes. Mention it when booking so we export per voice. We can include a quick stereo mix for review.

How do I book a session?

Via contact, [email protected] or 020 261 4873. We usually confirm within about 2 business days. More services: services and the guides hub.
